The Macallan distillery is a unmarried malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a completely owned subsidiary of the Edrington group which purchased the emblem from Highland Distillers in 1999.

The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak is matured exclusively in oloroso sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, in a match made in heaven paired with their rich, fruity and full bodied new-make spirit. Many whiskies will only be finished in sherry casks but in this expression the spirit has remained undisturbed for the full maturation.

The aromas are warm and spicy of dried fruit and ginger with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. The soft and rich palate brings more clove spice with a spritz of orange and toasted oak, leading to more of the same on the finish with a raisin sweetness.
