Yamazaki Mizunara Japanese Oak Cask 18 Year Old
- Reviews (0)
This 18-year-old Yamazaki Mizunara Single Malt is composed of meticulously selected malt whiskies, all aged for a minimum of 18 years in barrels of Mizunara (Japanese wood).
In homage to its namesake, it is made in the first and oldest malt distillery in Japan, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding house of Japanese whisky, we recall a whisky created to suit the delicate palate of the Japanese.
The exclusive release of Yamazaki 18-year-old Mizunara in 2023 highlights the unique essence of Yamazaki by combining Suntory’s iconic single malt with the irreplaceable effect of aging and the sought-after features of Japanese oak Mizunara, in which this unique malt was exclusively bred.
Suntory discovered and began experimenting with Mizunara wood in the 1940s, under the supervision of the first generation Master Blender Shinjiro Torii and the second generation Keizo Saji.
This commitment to developing aged whiskies in Mizunara wood has opened the way for future experiences.
